This will be our tenth Carry It On weekend and we love leading them! A weekend with a friendly bunch of people with a passion for singing, sharing ideas, skills, songs, techniques and inspiration to develop our work as singing leaders. What could be better?!
The programme for the weekend is devised from the concerns and interests of the participants, but topics can include the practicalities and challenges of setting up and running short-term projects and working long-term with singing groups and choirs, conducting and teaching skills, working with people who have pitching difficulties, mixed ability groups, singing and health groups, working with elderly and with people with dementia, young people, special needs groups, equal opportunities, funding, money matters … There will be lots of practical voice work, warm-ups, song sharing, play and chat as well as consideration of effective ways of dealing with concerns and challenges encountered in the work and opportunities for one-to-one sessions with the leaders. As there are three leaders, we often work in smaller groups focusing on different aspects of voice work, according to the interests and experience of participants.
On Saturday evening we will have a singing party. There will also be opportunities to enjoy the Wonderful Outdoors, including the Tudor Knot Garden, the lake and woodland walks.
